Yale Divinity School educates the scholars, ministers, and leaders of the future. Students from a full spectrum of Christian denominations and faiths attend YDS to begin a lifetime of ministry, scholarship, and service to the church and world.
YDS fulfills a critical role preparing leaders at a time of dramatic shifts in the global theological landscape. The student body represents a wide range of cultures, ethnicities and faith communities from around the world, taught by faculty eager to accept the educational challenges of an increasingly globalized environment. Faith and intellect meet in our daily ecumenical worship services in Marquand Chapel which reflect the great variety of theological and worship traditions represented here.
We invite you to explore the information offered here and schedule a visit to our campus.
YDS students take advantage of the full resources of Yale University and our extraordinary library system. Many students take courses across Yale and benefit from the cultural and social life of a world-class university.
We are proud to have two partners on Sterling Divinity Quadrangle:
The Yale Institute of Sacred Music offers interdisciplinary programs in sacred music, worship, and religion and the arts. Divinity students with interests in music, worship, visual arts, literature, or other arts studies are also encouraged to apply to the ISM.
Berkeley Divinity School is an Episcopal seminary located within YDS. Students interested in pursuing Anglican Studies through BDS should apply for admission to YDS or the ISM, indicating their interest in BDS.
