Course Description: 

The course will explore a number of texts by Kierkegaard, most of them pseudonymous, but also Works of Love written under his own name.  A focus of the course will be on what Kierkegaard intends us to think about the three stages of life, namely the aesthetic, the ethical and the religious.

Background Expected: 

No background is philosophy is required.  Some acquaintance with Kant and Hegel will be helpful.

Course Requirements: 

There is required reading, as well as one research paper, one class presentation and participation.
