Course Description: 

This course will consist of lectures by the instructor on certain topics, readings of primary sources in English translation, assigned secondary literature, and class discussion.

Background Expected: 

A basic knowledge of church history, European and American history, especially the sixteenth century Reformation.

Course Requirements: 

Required readings in primary and secondary literature, participation in class discussion, a class presentation, and a term paper to be determined in consultation with the instructor.
 

Basis of Evaluation: 

Class participation and class presentation, 25%; a short paper 25%, and a term paper, 50%.
