Course Description: 

What is required of leaders who wish to be informed by their faith, even as they operate in the political world? This course will address faith-based leadership in a secular society, with readings, stories and case studies from the real White House experience of our instructor.

Melissa Rogers completed her work as the Special Assistant to President Barak Obama, and Executive Director of the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, in January of 2017. Before that, she was the Director of the Center for Religion and Public Affairs at wake Forest Divinity School, and Executive Director of the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life.  One credit.

Enrollment limited to 30.

Course Requirements: 

Extensive online reading will be assigned for the course, and must be read before the March 31 class.

Students will commit to full attendance during this two day intensive class.

A 10 page reflection paper will be due on Saturday, April 15, 2017.

Basis of Evaluation: 

Credit for the class will be given for the successful completion of an acceptable paper.
