Course Description:

In a retreat/workshop format, we will explore social movements and the kind of leadership they require. In the workshop portion, we will ground ourselves in Parker J. Palmer’s “movement model” of social change and in his five key “habits of the heart” for citizens of a democracy. In the retreat portion, participants will have a chance to reflect on where they are located on these “maps” of social reality and possibility, and on next steps toward transformational leadership in their chosen professions. The entire course will be based on the “Circle of Trust” approach created by the Center for Courage & Renewal <http://www.CourageRenewal.org>, whose principles and practices have benefited many leaders, organizations and communities.  One Credit.
