Course Description: 

The aim of this course is to explore the way in which language is used in Christian worship so that as participants and worship leaders students will be sensitive to how meaning is conveyed through specific choices about types of language and texts, and in relation to ritual elements of worship, in their own church. Students will be taught and will practise a range of interpretative strategies and will be expected to use these to make independent evaluations. The written reflections and oral presentations aim to help them articulate their ideas in institutional and catechetical contexts.

Course Requirements: 

Attendance, participation in group discussions and presentations, 3 x short individual presentations, 3 x reflection papers.

Basis of Evaluation: 

Grading based upon the 3 reflection papers and the group presentation.
