A Few (More) Notes About the BTFO Schedule

“A Few (More) Notes About the BTFO Schedule”

by Jordan Rebholz

Hey Folks! BTFO is less than a week away and we can’t wait to meet you all!  We wanted to share with you just a few more notes about the BTFO Schedule so that you know what to expect.

1) As mentioned in our “Sustainability at Yale Divinity School” blog post, this year at BTFO, we will be using completely compostable cups and plates at all of our meals.  Additionally, recycling containers will be available throughout the building and the Quad. Although we will be providing cups for coffee and other drinks throughout the event, we also encourage you to bring your own reusable water bottles and/or a coffee thermos to help cut down on how much waste we produce.

2) We have a more information about Children’s Activities during BTFO.  During Marquand Chapel services and any session happening in the Common Room (as noted on the official schedule), we will offer a “Children’s Activity Station” with coloring books and other quiet activities that are open to any and all children in attendance.  During lunches, there will be a designated area for students with children who want to connect with other YDS families, as organized by our amazing Children’s Activities Leader, Jill Morrison.  However, during lunches there will be no designated volunteers watching the children.  Please look for signs indicating where this area is.  Also, when you register for BTFO on Thursday, we will have registration forms available for parents who wish to have their children participate in any activities so that our volunteers have all emergency contact information that might be needed.  Please note that if your child needs medication dispensed or diapers changes, we will be unable to perform these tasks, but you are welcome to come and perform them yourself.  We are still in the process of finalizing other activities for children, but we will be sending out more information soon.

With BTFO starting in just a few days, our excitement is growing and we look forward to seeing everyone on the Quad soon!
