Mark S. M. Scott M.A.R.

When I reflect on the more than 10 years that have transpired since our graduation, I am filled with a sense of gratitude for my time at YDS. In two short years my theological horizons were expanded dramatically through my exposure to profound thinkers in my textbooks and in my classrooms. The experience of learning in community with such accomplished professors and talented classmates made deep inroads in me and helped to clarify my sense of vocation. The friendships I developed in those years have stood the test of time, and continue to nourish me, even from afar. I am currently an Arthur J. Ennis Postdoctoral Fellow at Villanova University. I authored "Journey Back to God: Origen on the Problem of Evil" (NY: Oxford University Press, 2012) and co-authored "Blindsided: A Game Plan for Grief" (Toronto: Clements Publishing, 2013). I am currently working on a new book project. Esther and I have three wonderful children: 3, 5, and 7, so we're fully immersed in the joyful chaos of young family life.
