Judith Dupré: Biographer of one of the world’s greatest buildings

Judith Dupré ‘11 M.Div. is the author of the new book One World Trade Center: Biography of the Building. Read her first-hand account of her career as a writer of architectural history and join her and Marketplace radio on a tour of the building that inspired her new book.

“Everything cannot be utilitarian,” Dupré says. ” … This tower stands as proof, despite all the troubles and evil in the world, of what human beings are capable of. And when you see this building coming down the west side, coming down the east side, from Brooklyn, from Queens, from Staten Island, you think, ‘wow.’ This is what human beings are capable of–and it ennobles all of us.”
