Introducing the Divinity Farm!

For the beauty of the Earth…a guest post from your DivFarm Student Coordinators Blarrow (a.k.a. Blair Nelsen and Sparrow Gates)

Yale Divinity Farm is a communal gathering space for humans and other-than-humans. It is located just past the main YDS buildings en route to the Divinity Apartments. The DivFarm is composed of communal garden plots where anyone can tend and harvest what is planted there, as well as assigned plots tended from spring to late fall by a community of YDS-affiliated gardeners. Around the DivFarm you will also find a welcoming picnic table and a fire pit available for use whenever you’d like.

The DivFarm is also host to special events throughout the academic year. We would love to see you at these upcoming events:

- August 25 @ 7 p.m.: BTFO S’mores at the Fire Pit

- August 27 @ 11 a.m.: Worship at the Divinity Farm (chapel will be an outdoor service held in the garden that day, as part of BTFO)

- September 22 @ 6 p.m.: Equinox Harvest Party

- October 27 @ 5 p.m.: Halloween at the DivFarm

If there are activities and events that you would be excited to see at the DivFarm, please reach out to the coordinators. This season’s DivFarm coordinators are Blair Nelsen and Sparrow Gates. (We can also give you a tour of what is planted where.) Inquiries about the DivFarm may be directed to div (dot) farm (at) yale (dot) edu. If you would like to keep up with DivFarm goings-on, we suggest liking our YDS Divinity Farm Facebook page. While all of our assigned plots are currently being tended, if you are interested in a plot for the 2019 growing season, keep your antennae up in the spring for instructions from next year’s coordinators.

            Till next time,

            Blairrow
