Alicia Schmidt Camacho, Professor of American Studies and Ethnicity, Race, and Migration at Yale and the Associate Head of Ezra Stiles College, will give a lecture at YDS on Monday, Dec. 4. Prof. Camacho will speak on “Sanctuary and Migrant Struggle in the Age of Illegality.”

The talk will take place at 5:30 p.m. in Niebuhr Hall, with a reception to follow.

Camacho’s scholarship concerns femicide in Ciudad, Juárez, transnational migration, border governance, and social movements in the Americas. She is the author of “Migrant Imaginaries: Latino Cultural Politics in the Mexico–U.S. Borderlands” (NYU Press, 2008) and chairs the board of Junta for Progressive Action.
