Yale Divinity School Dean Greg Sterling shared the following message today.

Dear Colleagues,
For the last fourteen years, I have had the privilege to serve as the dean of YDS. It has been and is the honor of my career. It has also been deeply meaningful personally: two of my grandfather’s brothers earned Yale degrees. Coming to Yale brought our family full circle. Earlier today, President McInnis and Provost Strobel sent out this message.
I had originally planned to step down after ten years of service, but the pandemic and the need to see the Living Village through to completion led me to seek a third term. Next year will be the fifth and final year of this term and I have decided it is time to pass the torch. The time will come to thank many people individually: three presidents, two provosts, many decanal colleagues and administrative colleagues, and above all the faculty, staff, students, and supporters of YDS. For now, I will say a collective thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your colleagueship and friendship have meant the world to me. Together we have taken some notable steps.
There is still a great deal to do. We have three major projects before us. I will work diligently to make sure that these are well on their way to becoming realities. Let’s make this coming year a milestone for YDS.
