Sean Suarez is of Head of Uber for Business Self-serve at Uber, a global ridesharing platform. Immediately prior to his current role, Sean led Strategy for Uber Transit, a business unit that enables public transportation agencies to leverage Uber’s capacious supply to increase flexibility for their ridership.
Previously, Sean served as Vice President of Strategy and Chief People Officer at a public transit technology company acquired by Uber in 2020. He began his career with the Boston Consulting Group, specializing in strategy, corporate purpose, and public sector economic development.
Sean is a graduate of The University of the South (BA, summa cum laude) and Yale University (MDiv., summa cum laude) and pursued doctoral studies at Emory University (ABD) where his work focused on religion and technology in American history. He is also co-author of multiple texts on the institutional history of the University of the South, including Sewanee Places, a historical gazetteer.
An avid tennis player and compulsive reader of new fiction, Sean lives in Atlanta with his wife Elizabeth and their son John Francis. They worship at the Cathedral of St Philip (Episcopal).
