Gail McKinnis, M.Div. ’63

On August first, a group of residents at Carol Woods Retirement Community in Chapel Hill, NC met for dinner to celebrate their ties to Yale Divinity School.  This is not the first time! Gail McKinnis (1960-63) has planned several such dinners, and all who attended were happy to share their YDS memories.

 

This year’s group included Samuel Magill (1950-53), and his wife Eunice Brock, former Congressman David Price (1961-64), Bob Dunham (1978-79) and his wife, Marla, Dick Busch (1956-59) and his wife, Lewise, Clifford H. Schilke (1966) and his wife Pat Furey, and Gail McKinnis. I was there representing my husband, John H. Schutz (1954-1968), who died in 2015. While my husband studied at Yale, I worked on a research paper for Ray Morris, YDS Librarian, and typed Roland Bainton’s book, The History of Christianity.

 

Those residents of Carol Woods who were unable to attend this year included Gordon Davies (1961-62) and his wife Betsy Brinson, Dick Prust (1961-64), Nancy Vrooman (1964-66) and Gates Vrooman (1964-67), Bill Murray (1965-69) and his wife Kathy Murray, and Lucy Austin (1966-69).
