Established by Dean Sterling in April 2026, the Dean’s Emeriti Circle (DEC) supports the development of YDS as the world’s foremost center of excellence for preparing responsible Christian leaders for churches, the academy, and the world. It promotes Yale University as a global forum for research and debate on the role of religion and human well-being.
The DEC is composed of former members of the Dean’s Advisory Council (DAC) who served for a minimum of nine years and distinguished themselves through their service to YDS. The DEC is an honorific recognition of DAC members who have made outstanding contributions and a means to maintain a connection with them.
