Nora Gallagher

Nora Gallagher was educated at St. John’s College in Santa Fe, New Mexico, the “College of the Great Books,” where she studied mathematics and Greek, as well as the “Great Books” from Plato to Kepler. She is the renowned author of three memoirs and a novel, including the highly acclaimed Things Seen and Unseen: A Year Lived in Faith.  Her novel, Changing Light (that takes place in the shadow of the atom bomb) was an Editors’ Choice at the New York Times. Her essays, book reviews and journalism have appeared in many publications, including The New York Times MagazineDoubleTake, The Washington PostThe Village VoiceMother Jones, and The Los Angeles Times.  In addition, she is an environmental strategist and founder of the Mentorship Project at Patagonia, Inc. With her husband, Vincent Stanley, she led a Transformational Leadership Conference with students from YDS, SOM and Yale School of the Environment.
