Event description:
Dr. Kevin Hector is Associate Professor of Theology and of the Philosophy of Religions at the University of Chicago Divinity School. His most recent book, The Theological Project of Modernism: Faith and the Conditions of Mineness, explores the idea of ‘mineness,’ in the sense of being able to identify with one’s life or experience as self-expressive. Tracing the development of this idea in modern theology, Hector offers an account of how faith in God entails faith that one’s life ultimately won’t fall apart; and of what such faith would have to be like in order for one to identify with it.
