ISM Special Event: Fet Milokan presented by Manbo Maude and Sosyete Nago

Event time:
Tuesday, May 13, 2025 - 7:00pm to 11:59pm
Location:
409 Prospect Street
New Haven, CT 06511
Event description:

Milokan is the unification of tou les lwa (all the divine energies) and all the mystical forces Vodouizan (Vodou practitioners) walk with. Many of these spirits, like Danto, Ogou, Legba, Danbala, we know by name. Others, though unknown, remain part of tout fòs mistik yo (all the mystical forces) that exist on the continent of Africa and crossed the ocean and intermingled with the divine forces in Ayiti. As such, this ceremony recognizes all the powerful forces that continue to guide devotees across times and spaces.

This event, presented by Manbo Maude and Sosyete Nago in the Old Refectory at Yale Divinity School (409 Prospect St., New Haven), is a component of the ISM’s 2025 Black Sacred Arts Conference: Centering the Black Sacred Arts: Research, Education, and Public Life. Although the full conference requires registration, the Fet Milokan event is free and open to the public with no need to register.
