Yale Graduate Conference in Religion and Ecology

Event time:
Friday, February 8, 2019 - 12:00am
Location:
409 Prospect Street
New Haven, CT 06511
Event description:

Hosted annually at Yale University, the Graduate Conference in Religion and Ecology (GCRE)
provides a space for students to engage in dynamic, interdisciplinary conversations across
curricular boundaries, and strives to connect ethos with ethics, and ethics to applicable
practicality. How do beliefs about the environment affect the use of and engagement with the
natural world? Conversely, how might natural phenomena and other human-earth relationships
influence religious worldviews? Showcasing student research through papers, projects, and
performances, GCRE presenters range from undergraduates to PhD candidates, and even include
professionals who are implementing academic work in the workplace.

The theme of GCRE 2019, Exploring Energy , partners with the yearlong 2018-19 initiative
sponsored by Yale Environmental Humanities (https://environmentalhumanities.yale.edu/energy-humanities) to explore the intersection of energy with human
culture. Proposals are especially encouraged on this conference theme in addition to welcoming
presentations on other topics related to the fields of environmental and moral dialogue.

Please visit campuspress.yale.edu/gcre for conference details, proposal guidelines, and registration.
