From May 28 - June 9, 2015 Sterling Professor of Divinity Harold Attridge will lead a trip to the cities described by Paul, the book of Revelation, and the Cappadocians.
The trip begins in Istanbul and continues with a flight to Izmir, ancient Smyrna, on the western coast. Major sites to be visited include: Ephesus and Pergamon, and Sardis, followed by travel inland to the Lycus Valley and the cities of Aphrodisias, Hierapolis, Laodicea, and Colossae. The program concludes with travel to the scenic region of Cappadocia and its monasteries and churches.
Space is limited. The basic cost will be $2,850 (double room), which will cover expenses in Turkey but not airfare to or from Istanbul. If you are interested in this trip, you should contact Connie Royster at constance.royster@yale.edu by July 1, 2014. Registration will be $800.
