Gabby Cudjoe Wilkes ‘18 M.Div.

Before YDS, I was a staff associate pastor and a gospel music publicist. Two experiences come to mind for me when I reflect on my experience at Yale:

1) I had the honor of being the president of the Yale Black Seminarians my second year at YDS and through that experience I had the opportunity to serve my community and collaborate with administration to create opportunities for our diverse black student population here at the Divinity School. In this role was also the opportunity to collaborate across the university via the Afro-American Cultural Center at Yale and the black graduate and professional school student groups.

2) The Cambridge Exchange also stands out. I had an opportunity to study abroad via the Westcott Exchange in Cambridge, England, during the first semester of my third year, which was an incredibly enriching and life-changing experience.

Next, I will be pursing the completion of my ordination process and will continue the work of congregational ministry in the New York City area.
