Promoting clergy wellbeing: Podcast interview with Rev. Jerry Streets

In the new episode of the YDS “Quadcast,” longtime minister, clinical social worker, and YDS faculty member Rev. Dr. Jerry Streets ‘75 M.Div. discusses his research on clergy wellbeing, insights on multi-faith ministry, and lessons learned from his long career as a pastor.

Streets, Associate Professor (Adjunct) of Pastoral Theology at YDS and former Yale University Chaplain, has recently completed a survey of pastors, delving into what causes burnout and how pastors can prevent it. “Compassion fatigue,” he explains, “is when you give out so much of yourself that you get depleted physically, emotionally, and spiritually.”

“The Quadcast” is hosted by Emily Judd ’19 M.A.R., who is Senior Communications Specialist at the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity, an international humanitarian organization supported by Pope Francis, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, and the leadership of the United Arab Emirates. She previously worked as a journalist in the Middle East.
