Rod Lowe appointed Senior Associate Director for Major Gifts

Rod Lowe, an accomplished fundraising and marketing professional with a background in the military and community leadership, has been appointed Senior Associate Director for Major Gifts in the YDS Office of Alumni Engagement and Development.

Mr. Lowe recently relocated to Connecticut from Texas, where for the past six years he has led franchise development marketing for the 7-Eleven corporation. Prior to that, he served in the U.S. Army, working in the areas of military intelligence and field artillery at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington state.

Lowe comes to YDS with eight years of fundraising experience: first at Columbia University, and then six years at Muhlenberg College in Pennsylvania, where he served as Leadership Gift Officer and helped raise millions of dollars in philanthropic support.

Also a leader in his communities, Lowe founded a nonprofit for Puget Sound-area veterans in business while in the Army. Reflective of his passion for classical and gospel music, he started a gospel choir, Rejoice, during his time at Muhlenberg.

Lowe is a graduate of Gettysburg College and has a master’s degree in nonprofit administration from Columbia.

“I am very much looking forward to Rod’s contributions,” said Barbara Sabia, Senior Director for Alumni Engagement and Development. “He is eager to get acquainted with YDS and our alumni. I am confident that our extended community will welcome Rod with open arms.”
