Spectrum Magazine Goes Digital

Jared Gilbert '12 M.Div.

Spectrum Magazine is going digital. Three years ago, former Dean Harry Attridge announced that our Alumni Magazine would begin a transition to digital publication. After much planning, and great advances in technology and media, the digital edition of Spectrum will be the first in a series of new offerings for our alumni and the broader YDS community.

Spectrum photoThe inaugural digital edition will be available for all digital media platforms, including personal computer, iPad, iPhone, Android Tablets, and Android Smartphones. Additionally, we will be publishing the magazine for print-on-demand, printable at a home printer for free, or from a publishing service for a nominal fee.

The new digital edition will be packed with videos, links, and other digital content that will make Spectrum Magazine a great new experience of all the activities and resources happening around the Quad and among our alumni.

You may have noticed that YDS has already been developing new ways on communicating with the alumni, including greatly expanding our social media presence with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google+, and YouTube. Beginning this month, YDS will begin broadcasting all major lectures on Livestream, a live webcast platform available to all web users, and integrated with social features such as chat and sharing.

As we begin this transition, we hope to provide you with as many tools as possible for accessing content and information from YDS. We look forward to your feedback on the new Spectrum digital addition, and we also welcome ideas for new ways of connecting digitally with alumni in the future.
