NEW HAVEN, CT – Yale Divinity School has announced that Tom Krattenmaker will join the administration as Director of Communications. Krattenmaker arrives at Yale after a successful career in both university communications and journalism. As Director of Communications, Krattenmaker will direct traditional and new media at YDS, enabling the school to engage the most pressing contemporary religious issues.

Krattenmaker is also a nationally-recognized religion reporter. Tom began as a reporter for the Orange County Register, moved to the Associated Press as a reporter and editor, and since 2004 has been a regular op-ed contributor to USA Today. He has had pieces appear in many national venues and has also made appearances on ABC News Nightline and spoken on NPR. He is the author of two award winning books, Onward Christian Athletes (Rowman & Littlefield, 2009), winner of the Foreword Reviews’ best book awards, and The Evangelicals You Don’t Know (Rowman and Littlefield, 2013), a finalist in Religion Newswriters’ Association Book awards (the winners have not yet been announced). He won the American Academy of Religion Journalism Awards contest in 2009.
