WITH 15 DAYS TO GO — YOUR GENEROSITY WILL SUPPORT 15 MORE YDS STUDENTS

With 15 days to go until the end of the fiscal year June 30th , can we meet our annual fund goal for 2004 of $450,000? We need to raise a final $60,000 to meet our goal. This goal will support 65 students with partial scholarships.

This year we celebrated a “Season of Rededication’ with the renovation of the Sterling Divinity School Quadrangle. In this “Season” we are rededicating ourselves to supporting our students! Last year the Annual Fund supported 50 students with partial scholarships. Help us leap ahead in 2004 to support 65 students through your generous support.

100% of the Divinity School Annual Fund provides scholarships for our students and 90% of students require financial aid. The Annual Fund is an essential part of support for students of excellence. Help support a new generation of YDS students today with your gift.

Make your gift online or you may call 1-800-395-7646 to make your contribution over the phone.

The current campaign year ends on June 30th, so the time to act is now.

PASTORS OF EXCELLENCE NAMED FOR SUMMER TERM SCHOLARSHIPS

Ten “Pastors of Excellence” were selected to each receive a $1,000 YDS scholarship to participate in the new “Summer Term” program held on the newly renovated Sterling Divinity School Quadrangle during the month of June.

Summer Term at Sterling Divinity Quadrangle offers to clergy and practitioners as well as church musicians and those with an interest in worship and the arts, a month-long series of short, non-credit courses, in subject areas ranging from history and biblical scholarship to literature and the arts. Presented jointly by the Yale Divinity School , the Yale Institute of Sacred Music , and Berkeley Divinity School at Yale , the courses of Summer Term 2004 are being taught by our faculty and several guest faculty.

The ten “Pastors of Excellence” were selected from nominations received from across the country. Dean Harold W. Attridge commented, “We were delighted with the dozens of nominations received. It was a great testimony to many significant ministries in communities across the country. The selection of ten ‘Pastors of Excellence’ was not easy, given the many worthy nominees. It is our privilege to recognize these outstanding pastors and to support their participation in this new Summer Term.”

ALUM OFFERS $10,000 CHALLENGE!

Allentown , PA– J. Scott Pidcock ‘82 M.A.R. and a member of the Yale Divinity School Board of Advisors announced a $10,000 Challenge Gift for 100 new donors to the Annual Fund before June 30, 2004 .

In making his challenge Pidcock wrote; “It was a great joy to be in New Haven last September for the Sterling Divinity Quadrangle rededication ceremony.” Much has been accomplished at YDS in recent years, and it seems appropriate that as alumni we support our YDS students and mission. Recent world events continue to confirm the essential role YDS can play on the national and world stage as religious understanding and tolerance are tested.

“This year, I made the decision to support the School’s Annual Fund through a $10,000 challenge. The challenge is to assist the Divinity School in expanding its donor base by encouraging 100 other alumni to participate in the $450,000 Annual Fund goal by June 30th.”

Whether you are able to give $10, $100, or $1,000, your support is important! You may make your gift online or you may call 1-800-395-7646 to make your contribution over the phone.

The current campaign year ends on June 30th, so the time to act is now.
