The Rev’d Dr Maggi Dawn is the Dean of Marquand Chapel, and Associate Professor of Theology and Literature. Before training as a theologian at the University of Cambridge in the UK, she had a first career as a writer and performer in the music business, and her knowledge and experience of the performing arts informs all her work in the Chapel.

Every year the Dean of Chapel recruits a team of students every year to work as Chapel Ministers, and together they learn about worship design while drawing other students in to participate in Chapel life.  She says,

“Marquand Chapel is full of people from many denominations and different worship and faith experiences. We meet for worship every weekday at 10:30 am, and because it is different every day you need to attend quite a few times to get the full picture of Marquand. We sing a lot, and we have sermons, but we also draw a lot from the world of the arts to create our environment for worship. Each year is a little different, depending on the mix of students that get involved, so do come and join in!”

Dean Dawn also teaches courses, and has an office in C202, just round the corner from the Chapel, and welcomes anyone who wants to drop by for a chat about Chapel.
