YDS Learn, Lead, Inspire Summit
Location: Yale Divinity School     Dates: June 26-30, 2023

“The Other”: Defining, Defending, Problematizing
Join us on the beautiful Sterling Divinity Quadrangle in New Haven for a week-long educational summit. This year’s topic will be the intended and unintended consequence of categorizing “otherness,” whether it be around race, gender, ethnicity, ability, or other lines of difference. Participants will have an opportunity to spend a week thinking intensively with peers and friends about this important and timely topic, all the while being guided by faculty from Yale, with opportunities for small group intensive discussions and personally tailored experiences, preparing them to better engage with their communities, their congregations, and their faith.

During this immersive 5-day program, participants will come to campus to live, learn, and work together, utilizing the resources of Yale and the wider New Haven community. We will explore the topic through biblical, theological, ethical, and pastoral lenses in a supportive learning environment that includes Yale faculty and higher education leaders from across the country.

Detailed agenda and registration will be available shortly. This pilot program will have a limited number of participants and registration will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tuition: $1,750 (includes housing and most meals). A $250 discount is available for YDS alumni, active clergy, and Yale Bible Study or Yale Youth Ministry Institute program participants.

These summer courses are not for academic credit but can count towards continuing education requirements for some clergy. Participants receive a Yale Certificate of Completion at the end of the course week. Feel free to contact us at 203-432-3450 with questions.
