Date of death:
Wednesday, May 6, 2020

Rev. Mr. Gregory Alan Errgong-Weider, age 69, of North Port, Florida, passed away at home peacefully on May 6, 2020.
Greg held a B.A. from Anderson College (now Anderson University) in Indiana, and a Masters of Divinity from the School of Divinity at Yale University. He served as pastor at the Prospect Congregational Church in Prospect, CT; Plymouth United Church in Spring, Texas; and United Congregational Church in Norwalk, CT.

As a pastor and friend, Greg was well-loved and made a positive difference in so many people’s lives. He enjoyed poker nights with friends, calling a Reese’s peanut butter pie ‘dinner’, good whiskey, watching sunsets on the deck at his home away from home in Seawood Estates on Prince Edward Island, Canada, and most of all spending time with his family.
He is predeceased by his wife, Joan Elizabeth Errgong-Weider and his parents, Paul P. and Betty Weider.

Greg will be loved always and missed sorely by his sister Marilyn and brother Doug, his daughters, Megan Errgong-Weider and Jenna Heller, his grandchildren, extended family and friends.

A virtual celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2020, at 4:00pm, on what would have been Greg’s 70th birthday. If interested in attending virtually, please contact Megan Errgong-Weider at gregewmemorial@gmail.com.

Greg truly enjoyed spending time with the Benedictine Monks of the Weston Priory in Vermont. He also loved their music as well which was plain to see given the number of tapes and CDs found in his possession. If you feel so moved, please make a gift to the Benedictine Monks of Weston Priory, 58 Priory Hill Road, Weston, VT 05161-6400. Please earmark your check with ‘Gregory Errgong-Weider’.
