Rev. Warner H. Sanford Jr. died Friday, September 18, 2020 at the LakePointe Senior Care Center in Clinton Township, MI. He was born in Detroit, MI on July 2, 1943 the son of Warner H. and Winifred Florence (Moore) Sanford who preceded him in death.

Warner graduated from Olivet College, Olivet, MI in 1968. While he was there he pledged and was an active member of the Kappa Sigma Alpha fraternity. After graduating, he attended the Yale Divinity School graduating in 1970.

After graduating from Yale, he pursued his calling as a Christian minister serving churches in New Jersey, Missouri, Washington State, and Nevada.

When in Nevada, he suffered an injury to his back that severely hampered his mobility. After that, he returned to Detroit to get better care.

He was known for his enjoyment of golf, bridge, coffee, and cigarettes. Not necessarily in that order.

He is survived by his sister Sandra Thompson, his ex-wife Margaret J. (Brown) Sanford their two children Shawn and Kai as well as a granddaughter.
