I am grateful for YDS and the way it helped open me up to different ways to think about people, problems, and theological possibilities. I became a better pastoral caregiver because of the people I encountered. The way that God spoke to me outside of class helped me to see the structures of society, the classes I took helped me gain perspective on how to influence them for God’s glory and people’s good. The relationships I gained continue too be mutually beneficial as I work as an Editor for Christian Education resources for over 10,000 African Americans arounf the country and internationally. And I am continually challenged to be a better version of myself as I dialogue with current students as they wrestle whth how to be faithful in a chaotic world and challenging historical moment. I will continue to go back and visit often, to give and receive especially with the YBS students who are on campus.
