Barbara Miodonski (Oldmeadow) YDS ‘75
At the end of 2017 I retired from my most recent role at Wesley College, a residential college at Sydney University and from active ministry.
After graduating from YDS, marrying John Oldmeadow (YDS,75), we moved to Melbourne, Australia. I was one of the first women ordained into the newly formed Uniting Church in Australia (union of Methodist, Presbyterian & Congregational churches 1977). Most of my ministry was served as Chaplain in 2 Uniting (formerly Methodist) girls’ secondary colleges over some 30 years before taking up a role as Counsellor & Chaplain at the Uniting Church residential college at Sydney University. For the last 8 years I have counselled and ministered to 250 undergraduates (mainly from regional areas) making use of my Counselling qualifications and experience in secondary colleges.
Travel and family were the focus of my first year of retirement and I am considering new directions while embracing this new pace of life
