I am serving in my 13th year as President of Huntingdon College, Montgomery, Alabama, a United Methodist baccalaureate liberal arts college. Among my trustees until his retirement was YDS alumnus Bishop Will Willimon. I had the honor several years ago of hosting Dean Harry Attridge and Professor Carlos Eire from Yale for public lectures at Huntingdon, and I have “sent” two Huntingdon graduates to YDS. My wife of 26 years, Elizabeth Batchelor West, and I enjoyed a week in New Haven last fall at a national teacher education conference and took a walk “up the hill” to YDS, where Elizabeth snapped the attached picture. Recently, I was appointed to a three year term on the Duke Divinity School Board of Visitors, and I am enjoying first-hand a renewed engagement with professional theological education. Our daughter, Grace Louise, is a 2014 graduate of The University of the South, Sewanee, TN, and is employed as Manager of the Collection at The Guarisco Gallery in Washington, D.C. Our son, William Cameron, is a sophomore at Wofford College, Spartanburg, SC.
