I am pleased to say that I have a new book coming out this year, entitled: Bearing the Unbearable: Trauma, Gospel and Pastoral Care (Eerdmans, 2015).  I gave some of these lectures in Australia and New Zealand last fall when I was on sabbatical.  Among the highlights of that trip was the moment I saw with my own eyes, an albatross sailing over the ocean with its ten-foot wingspan.  Our granddaughter, Amy Louise Schmeltzer, was born in September, and taking care of her and her parents was a highlight of the sabbatical as well.

On a side note, I just got back from YDS last week from presenting material from an earlier book, Transforming Church Conflict: Compassionate Leadership in Action, with my co-author, Theresa F. Latini.  We gave a Friday-night lecture and an all-day workshop on nonviolent communication for the church in the RSV room to field ed. supervisors and others.  It was great fun!
