Deborah van Deusen Hunsinger , M.Div.

Class of
1976

Deborah van Deusen Hunsinger is now the Charlotte W. Newcombe Professor of Pastoral Theology Emerita at Princeton Theological Seminary, having retired in January, 2019, after nearly 25 years of teaching there.  She has returned to her original vocation as a student, now in Rome, Italy, where she is engaged for three hours every morning learning Italian, while her husband, George Hunsinger, teaches a course on the eucharist and ecumenism at the the Pontifical Gregorian University.  In the fall, she will take her lifelong interests in theology, psychology and spirituality and reconfigure them into a new (part-time) position as a spiritual director at the seminary.  She and George are reading the novels of Anthony Trollope aloud to each other nearly every evening and are enjoying them immensely.
