In October, I will have been the pastor of Faith United Church of Christ in Richmond Heights, Ohio (an eastern suburb of Cleveland) for fifteen years -- a milestone that's arrived very quickly! I continue to learn something new every day about pastoring, and the work continues to be rewarding. Three cats (Nick, Phoebe, and Bo) and a dog (Chloe) share the Bachelor Parson's Pad with me, and being able to walk the dog to the Euclid Creek Reservation almost every day continues to be a joy and a blessing. In June, I will be leading a trip to Reformed Europe -- Germany, Switzerland, France (very briefly -- just a few hours in Strasbourg), and Holland -- the third in a Trilogy of Travel tracing the roots of the UCC. Retirement still seems a long way away -- about a dozen years, I reckon -- and the list of courses I hope to teach someday for our local lay academy continues to grow (everything from a seminar on Genesis to a course on the End of the World). Blessings abound and I remain grateful for them all.
