James Bortell is a retired United Methodist minister now serving part-time at a small Mennonite church. He has discovered, after his vocational doubts at YDS, that the parish ministry has been a good fit. Jim is also an adjunct instructor for Garrett Evangelical Seminary and also teaches in Illinois State University’s Community Education program. His article “Roger Williams and Religious Liberty” was recently published in The Progressive Christian. Jim and his wife, Roberta, live in Bloomington, IL.
