In June of 2017, I completed 28 years of ministry with the West Virginia Conference of The United Methodist Church, retiring from my final position of Director of Connectional Ministries and Assistant to the Bishop. During the last year I focused on our conference's response to the massive flooding that had taken place June 23, 2016. After my retirement I am continuing to be connected to our conference's disaster recovery plan, helping manage our grants, prepare our reports, and swinging a hammer now and then. It has been a great way to finish my active ministry as an ordained deacon. Lin, my wife from Naugatuck Connecticut, is also retire from directing the Cross Lanes United Methodist preschool, and loves every minute of retirement. Our son, John Michael, is well rooted in Minneapolis, happily married and raising our two grandsons, John Lee and Sam. We love to visit them and go to the beach together. Lin and I take a walk everyday with Abby, our black lab, who always insists that we forgot to feed her.
