Jonathan Dudley, M.A.R. (Ethics, '09), M.D. (Johns Hopkins) completed his clinical training at Stanford and obtained board-certification in Molecular Genetic Pathology before moving back to Johns Hopkins Hospital. His clinical work focuses on interpreting DNA sequencing information to guide patient care and his research focuses on developing new molecular diagnostic technologies. He recently led a study on the detection of bladder cancer from DNA it sheds into the urine, published in Cancer Discovery (http://cancerdiscovery.aacrjournals.org/content/early/2018/12/21/2159-82...). At the same time, Jonathan (who authored the book Broken Words: The Abuse of Science and Faith in American Politics shortly after graduating) has integrated his YDS training in ethics with his medical training through speaking and research in bioethics, with a recent talk at Calvin College (available on youtube) titled, "A Critical Appraisal of the Evangelical Pro-Life Movement."
