Last October, I received this sad news from Richard Holmer ’79:

I share with you the sad news that my brother, Peter Holmer, YDS ’76, died on May 7.      Peter had retired in June of 2017 after 41 years of vibrant parish ministry.  Peter’s wife, Linda died a year earlier in July of 2016.  Cancer took them both.  He had wonderful memories of YDS.

I wrote to Richard that I had seen Peter at YDS Convocation only a couple of years ago, and Richard replied:

 “We shared an abiding appreciation for our time there and all the wonderful people we came to know.  More than a brother, he was my dearest friend and pastoral colleague.  I miss him more than words can express.  I hope to see him again where there are no tears or pains.
