Randall Zachman, M.Div.

Class of
1980
Denomination:
Episcopal

In June, 2017, I retired from teaching theology at the University of Notre Dame, where I taught for 26 years as Professor of Reformation Studies. I have moved to Lancaster, PA with my wife, Carolyne Call, so that she could take a job at Lancaster Theological Seminary as the Executive Director of Development and Communication. I am now Adjunct Instructor of Church History there, and have taught classes there for the past two years. Much to my delight, Lee Barrett, who was a PhD student at Yale during my time there, and was the TA for some of my classes when I was at YDS, is professor of theology at LTS, and it has been wonderful to rekindle our friendship here. I continue to work on chapters and lectures on the theology of John Calvin, as well as the thought of Soren Kierkegaard, and am going to Japan in May to give lectures on the way each of them respond to the problem of human suffering, as part of the seminary's exchange relationship with Tohoku Gakuin University in Sendai, Japan. Our son Johnny Zachman lives in Austin, Texas, where he works for DoStuffMedia.com, and continues his work as a singer-songwriter.
