In the summer of 2017 Samuel and his family traveled along with members of his church to the Matagalpa region of Nicaragua. Through a partnership with Agros International, the group provided a week of Bible camp for the children of the village of Tierra Nueva, learned about sustainable communities and agriculture, and provided support to the community. Agros International works to move families and villages from extreme poverty to independence through sustainable agriculture, land and property ownership, health and education. Sam now serves as Bereavement Coordinator for Bridges Hospice in Pittsburgh, where he also serves as Chaplain. He writes concerning chaplaincy and CPE through his blog www.chaplainsreport.com.
