I was fortunate to make a month-long pilgrimage to Israel this past winter and visit many of the sites at the heart of our faith -- the temple mount, Bethlehem, Nazareth, Capernaum, Qumran, and Jerusalem. I was even permitted to say Mass at Jesus' tomb in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. A detour to Istanbul to visit Hagia Sophia just topped off an already sublime experience. If you haven't been to the Holy Land, it is well worth finding an opportunity to go!
