For the past almost three years I have been living in a UCC retirement community in Concord, NH, and enjoying both the company and the assurances of continued care, come what come may. I remain active as a speaker for the NH Humanities, going around the state presenting a program on the basics of Islam. I have been heartened when Muslims show up for the program, as they add richness to the presentation that only  personal stories can. I am still active in my home church on the weekends, singing (still!) in the choir. I retired to New England from Virginia to be near(er) to my family, so there are frequent visits from them during the year and not just summers as before. I have kept up my interest in academic matters with the recent publication of a paper I presented in Istanbul four years ago on Middle Eastern themes in American popular sheet music. Peace, Chuck.
