Assistant Chaplain and Theology Teacher
Episcopal High School seeks an ordained Episcopal priest to join our team of chaplains, beginning in August 2025. The assistant chaplain’s primary responsibilities will include sharing in the ministry of the chaplaincy, directing the School’s service learning program, and teaching courses in the Theology department. Reporting to the Head Chaplain and to the Assistant Head for Student Life, the assistant chaplain will work collaboratively to develop and support weekly chapel services, special Vespers services, Sunday Community Eucharist, and other special services from time to time. We seek dynamic candidates who will participate eagerly in the broad life of the School, including in extracurricular and residential roles, and those who will actively advance the School’s mission, including its community and equity efforts and its “portrait of a graduate” qualities. References should speak to the candidate’s capacity and willingness to work creatively and effectively in a boarding school environment. The salary offered will be competitive and commensurate with experience. Housing benefits are included with this role. Given the timing, we are open to this role being an interim post.
Please note that, while the job description states the candidate must be an “ordained Episcopal priest,” we are very open to speaking with folks who are on a path toward ordination, or ordained, in a denomination in communion with the Episcopal Church.
