Good Shepherd is a vibrant and growing parish in downtown Lexington, Kentucky. About the Ministry
The Assistant Rector will oversee the pastoral ministries, including pastoral care visitors, Eucharistic visitors, meal ministry, card ministry, flower ministry, Holy Gophers, prayer shawls, cross quilt, backpacks, and Guild of the Christ Child. There are currently 30 volunteers involved within these ministries.
In addition, this role will help develop the expanding newcomer ministry to include greeters, a newcomers class, and new member assimilation.
The Ideal Candidate
To be considered for this position, candidates must be ordained within the Episcopal Church. In addition, you also must uphold the values of Good Shepherd as a fully affirming congregation.
Key Responsibilities
The primary areas of ministry focus will be pastoral care and newcomers. As Assistant Rector, you will also join the liturgy and preaching rotations along with contributing to the pastoral care ministries of the church.
Qualifications
- Ordained in the Episcopal Church
- A deep personal faith, supported by intentional spiritual practices
- Experience in recruiting, training, and equipping volunteers
- Strong communication skills
Salary Range: $67,000-$75,000
