Church Organist

We’re looking for a Church Organist to lead our church services.  The ideal candidate will have excellent musicianship. If you have a passion for music and working with people, we want to hear from you!

Minimum Qualifications

Degree in music preferred, but not required.

Ability to lead the congregation in order of worship playing prelude, hymns and postlude during Sunday morning services using the piano, organ and other instruments.

Experience forming, rehearsing, leading, directing and accompanying a choir.

Must be open to learning and playing traditional and modern hymns as well as contemporary worship music.

Must be flexible and be willing to grow and change as our congregation does.

Must be a Christian with a confession of faith in Jesus Christ.

Responsibilities

The Organist shall report to the Music Committee and Pastor to select songs and plan music in Sunday morning worship and special events.

The Organist and the Music Committee shall be responsible for developing the goals for the music ministry of First Baptist Norwich.

The Organist shall provide a report to the Music Committee regarding the progress of the accomplishments of the monthly goals.

The Organist shall attend Music Committee meetings.

Benefits            The Organist will start at $9,000 annually.
