Nanume Church (www.nanumechurch.org/em)(KPCA) located in Stony Brook, NY was founded in 2002 as a Korean-American Church. We’ve served the students at Stony Brook University and the surrounding community for twenty years since. In 2023, we launched an English Ministry for students and young adults who are mainly students of Stony Brook University. We look for the pastor who will build the spiritual foundation of the new EM ministry with the love and faithfulness of Jesus Christ. 

We are seeking a part-time English Ministry pastor. The EM pastor will work in a team-based environment toward our goal of making disciples of the leadership group who will become the leaders of small groups.  As the church is located in Stony Brook, NY, it is expected that the EM pastor would take the ferry from the bridgeport on Friday evening and stay till Sunday afternoon for the EM service currently scheduled at 3:30 PM. Mostly the Sunday service and fellowship should be ended by 6 PM. 

Specific weekend schedules and activities are subject to change upon the discussions with the EM members and coordinator and determined. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead regular programs for EM ministry including Friday or Saturday praise worship, Saturday small group meeting and Sunday service. 
  • Lead Bible studies, discipleship training, and intercessory prayer meetings.
  • Nurture and disciple a small group of college leaders so that they can lead their own small groups.

Qualifications:

  • Must have personal experience meeting Jesus and a vital personal relationship with the Lord through daily Bible study and prayer.  
  • Has a genuine heart for college English ministry, to nurture college students and young adults in the future in the Word of God and in prayer.
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited theological seminary or have completed
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills

 

Salary package:

– Commensurate to the cost of living with family included  (salary + housing allowance)
