Priest-in-Charge

Christ Episcopal Church in Guilford, Connecticut is seeking a full-time priest. The Vestry is contacting you in the hope that you will know someone among your colleagues who might be just the right person to share our journey in God’s love.

We hope that our Priest-in-Charge will join us living in an active, interesting New England town with great schools, a world-class library, and a beautiful Green across the street.  We love our town—the history, the people, the spirit of civic engagement.

Our church building is nearly 200 years old, and the parish itself predates the Revolutionary War. Many of us are newcomers, but we are at home here now.  We are looking for someone with a vision to help us grow in numbers and in faith.

We want to serve our community, both within the parish and beyond. Even as we anticipate new leadership, we haven’t been idle, waiting for help to arrive. Currently we are working on improving the rectory and church buildings. We support active ministries, a growing Sunday School, and innovative programs.

We are intelligent, motivated, strong people who question and challenge our leaders and one another, but once committed to a task or a vision, we work hard to make it happen. We have learned what we are capable of during the past year without a rector.  But we are eager to do even more with one.
