Job Description:
First and Summerfield United Methodist Church is looking for a designated
Sunday School and Christian Education Assistant for our summer session,
beginning in July. [[I’ll find out as soon as possible if it should be July 7!]] The
position is 2 hours, 2 Sundays per month. The Christian Education Assistant
will work closely with the Christian Education Lead to make sure that our
Sunday School is staffed by two adults. This role involves participating with
the children and helping with crafts, with the option to assist in lesson
planning.
Our Sunday School philosophy is to follow the interests of our active youth,
engaging with them at their own level, and sharing how stories from the
Bible fit into larger cultural conversations. We have a small active group of
Sunday School students ranging in age from preschool to high school.
